Caries Indicator liquid contains organic dye in a glycol base that stain carious dentin red. Helps to identify
demineralized dentin.
Indication:
To identify demineralized dentine. Identify caries in difficult to see places. Locate the root canal orifice.
Contra Indication:
No known contra indication is recorded.
Precaution:
Avoid splattering. Stain is removed from carious areas mechanically. If dye is difficult to remove (intraorally) use a sodium hypochlorite solution. If it stains clothing, then wash clothing with detergent and warm water or use white vinegar
Application:
- Paint Caries Indicator liquid on the surface to be checked. Leave it for 10 seconds then rinse and vacuum.
- When Caries Indicator is used to identify root canals in the early stages of endodontic procedure, a small red dot will remain at the opening of the canal orifice.
- For caries removal use a slow speed round bur or excavator.
- Repeat as needed until caries is completely removed.
Storage:
Store away from sunlight in cool and dry place.
