Description

Oxford Bite is an extremely hard and fast setting bite registration material. With the AUTOMIX-cartridge Oxford Bite can be syringed directly onto the teeth. The bite registration material is based on addition curing vinyl silicones.
Oxford Bite can be used for centric occlusions. It can also be applied as key material e.g. for taking intraoral registrations with posts. Finally, it can be used for the bite fork technique.
Oxford Bite is very suitable for cutting and contouring because of its extremely high final
hardness.
Thanks to its thixotropy, undesired flow of Oxford Bite into dental interstices is prevented
and allows an easy removal. Therefore Oxford Bite can be applied very easily.

Preparation of the AUTOMIX-Cartridge

First Scientific Dental Materials GmbH only recommends for Oxford Bite the use of mixing
cannulas type Oxford Mix TIP(O) green.

Mount the cartridge into the application gun.
Remove and dispose the closure-cap. For exact flow control extrude slightly material until
uniform flow from both orifices is achieved.
Install the mixing cannula onto the cartridge and extrude needed material.

Bite Registration
The automatically mixed material is applied directly onto the occlusal areas. The bite
should be closed within 20 seconds after the beginning of the extruding (working or
application time at 23°C or 74°F).

The recommended time in mouth is about 45 seconds
