Mainly used to dissolve gutta-percha in cases where canal filling material needs to be removed. Simply place a small amount of eucalyptol on the gutta-percha and leave it to soften. Once soft, the material can be removed. If eucalyptol is placed inside the canal, then any debris should be rinsed with alcohol to ensure no greasy residues remain.
